People message me about partner codes all the time. Always the same thing: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code doesn't change that.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Additional trading capital depending on your deposit. Simple as that.
What's the bonus amount?
$1,000 deposit adds $200.
$2,000 gets you $400.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. That's for serious capital.

People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Go ahead and register anyway. Reach out to your account manager first. Request partner code 128979 be added. Standard practice for them.
There's a catch with the bonus
There's a volume requirement.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
Your own money stays yours. Access it whenever you need. Only the bonus has the restriction.
Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. This lets you more info take bigger positions. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
